Have you tried a Buddha Board?
This unique board provides you with a Zen-like painting experience unlike any other. It features a surface that allows you to paint on it with just water, leaving fluid, expressive dark strokes that fade away slowly, leaving you with a clean blank slate once again. It ‘s great for practicing brush strokes, testing paintbrushes, and creating spontaneous temporary artwork.
Let your brush flow freely, without regard for lasting results… it is a great way to allow yourself the freedom and joy of a fleeting moment.
Buddha Boards encourage you to focus on the present and the enjoyment of creation. Each Buddha Board comes with a Sumi brush and self-contained water reservoir. Live and paint in the moment!
We just got our shipment… Come on in and check ’em out!
Please note the following updates and changes – I have added some information, and corrected a couple of typos.
One BIG oops was the wrong zip code with our address for sending payment! (Thanks for the heads up, P!) The correct address is: 1329 Monterey Street, San Luis Obispo, 93401.
A lot of people were having difficulty opening the Word document, so I changed it to a PDF file – you may access it here: Lian Zhen Jan 2014 workshop and materials list
Some of the basic info which is in the attachment but not in the body of the original blog are the dates and costs:
Art Central in San Luis Obispo (2-days) www.artcentralslo.wordpress.com January 10 & 11th, 2014 10am – 5pm. Maximum 10 students $160 per student.
Studios on the Park in Paso Robles (3-days) www.studiosonthepark.org January 13, 14 & 15th, 2014 9am – 4pm Maximum 24 students $225 per student
*** Also, the Santa Maria workshop, which is being organized by Sheila Underwood, still has 3 spaces left in it. That workshop (also with Lian Zhen) will be exclusively watercolor for the 3 day class. To sign up for that workshop, which will run January 7, 8, & 9th, please contact Sheila at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is a learning experience for us, and if we are successful, we hope to do similar workshops with other fantastic artists from all over. We would be interested in hearing suggestions, so please let us know!
