“The Elements of the Laureate”
Check out local young artists’ work…
Art Teacher, Carin Van Gaale says,
“You never see art as pure and true as that of a child’s! The Elements of the Laureate exhibit will showcase the unique and vibrant works of K-8 students. The Laureate School of San Luis Obispo has some spectacular artists that deserve to be recognized by our community. Our exhibit will display the importance of the elements of art while considering some influential artists from history. Students have also come together to create a cooperative piece that represents the growth and development that takes place here at our beautiful school. To be an art educator for The Laureate has been a phenomenal experience. It is my goal to give students the chance to recognize that their creativity is gallery worthy! Each and every one of my students is an artist and I am so proud of them. There is an artist in all of us; sometimes it just takes the opportunity and encouragement to believe and see it. So show your support for art in education and come check out our exhibit!”
Students participating are from the Laureate School in San Luis Obispo.
The Laureate School seeks to create opportunities for students to reach their full potential as responsible, caring and highly competent individuals who, as citizens of the world, play positive roles in their communities.
Our mission is to enable students to reach their full potential as trustworthy, responsible, caring, and knowledgeable individuals in a highly globalized world. We equip students with the skills to question, evaluate and understand through inquiry and project learning, and then to use those skills in ways that are unique, positive and constructive.
