Virtual Gallery

Before we share this week’s VIRTUAL GALLERY, below, please see

WHAT’S NEXT?

It’s amazing – more than 60 days have passed since the shutdown order was announced.  Crazy times, right?

We are ready to re-open Art Central, and we are committed to doing it slowly and carefully.  My primary concern is to keep my staff and my customers safe, and I will be stubbornly focused on that as long as I need to be, to make sure that we go above and beyond to assure everyone’s well-being.

  • Effective June 1st, Art Central will be open from 10-3pm Mondays thru Fridays, and we will offer by-appointment on Saturday mornings. (Appointments for Saturday must be made by Friday at 1pm.  If none are made, I will not be here.)
  • Occupancy will be limited to 5 customers at a time. No young children (under the age of 11) will be permitted in the store until the social distancing restrictions have been lifted.
  • While I don’t expect this to be an issue, please be considerate if you see that there are other customers waiting outside to shop.
  • If you’d like to enjoy our “WHILE WE SHELTERED” exhibit while you wait, the gallery will be open for browsing, 2 people at a time. Masks are required.
  • Anyone waiting outside the store must maintain social distancing of at least six feet.
  • We have disposable gloves for those who do not have them (while our supply lasts). Please refrain from touching anything in the store without gloves. You must bring your own mask – you will not be permitted in the store without one.
  • We will continue to offer curbside pickup to those who are unable or unwilling to wear a mask and gloves, or are high risk and don’t want to come in.
  • We will review the above information and make changes as needed. Hopefully, we’ll be able to slowly increase the times that the store is open for business. We ask for your patience as we do so.
  • You may continue to call or e-mail your orders if you wish. We want to make this as easy as we can for you.  Email at ArtCentralSLO@yahoo.com or phone us at 805-747-4200.

Thank you all for your past and continued support.  etty

“Here’s one I did with Thursday Painters last week. It was great to be out with the group again, and quite a few artists turned out to enjoy the beautiful Spring weather.
The one is called Field Study.
The poppies in the garden at Back Bay Inn were simply wonderful!”
-KC Caldwell

“These are a few of the pieces I created while sheltering at home. It’s been fun playing in the paint! Our Maggie May, my little buddy who won’t leave my side these days. Wacky Cake, part of a series ready for printing as cards, and of course California Poppies.”
-Barbara Cohen

Watch SLO bloom with the Downtown SLO May Flower Initiative

Image

The May Flower Initiative has developed a visual, vibrant experience for people to view safely from cars or bicycles.  This event has been put on by Downtown SLO to remind people that SLO is a vibrant center for creativity and commerce, and that it will be opening once recovery begins, whenever that time comes. Artists, Downtown businesses, and property owners have collaborated to create a series of vibrant, bright and colorful temporary flower designs to create a drive-by, bike-by or walk-by art experience for citizens of SLO to enjoy, safely!

  1. If only every store handled re-opening as thorough as Art Central. Respect the fact you are making the store a mask-only-zone?

Thanks for being such a amazing business, pandemic or no pandemic.
